Cab restoration has started with cleaning up of the drivers/secondmans side windows. This is shown stripped and being cleaned ready for reassembly

The blown triple pump. There is no signs say that why it went bang, but this proberly counted for the low oil pressure before starting!!!

The five handrails removed late last year are finally being repainted before being refitted to the locomotive. Which will make my life easier to get in and out of the locomotive! As can be seen the "junk" behind belongs to Tkh vanguard (but not the lawnmower!!!)

The door on the left is the drivers cab No1 to be changed with the one I found in store on the right. This still has BR blue/yellow and green paint on it

The other area that has been welded and as you can tell 5401 is getting very dirty so I spent a few hours washing the loco on sunday 29th January

The space the triple pump use to occupy this area will now be degreased and painted before the pump is returned

One stripped blown triple pump. A spare unit is being overhauled by an local electrical motor specialist. the unit has been stripped for reuseable parts and now placed in storage

The area for the triple pump has been degreased and painted while waiting for the motor to be returned, but a delay in repairs has now added another 3 weeks for repairs

The cab floor all welded up and very well done by our contract welder Johnny Zulu. My thanks to Mick Hooper and Johnny for doing an excellent job. All I need to do is clean and paint the area.

Today (14th March) the triple pump was returned to the loco after overhaul and is in a lovely blue colour!!!

About an hour later a large chunk of the bits were returned to the pump

D5401 on a passenger train!!! This was due to failure of the 08 shunter and flat batteries on 31298. This was the only working diesel.

D5401 first solo passenger run for a number of years. I have recently finished the white banding line and Gary Austin added the numbers transfers.
