D5401 steaming!!!! The 27 stood on the rear of a leicester bound steam service by the 8f 48305

D5401 after arriving on a freight train from Quorn. This was to be its first fitted freight train in many years

Sunday morning on the 26th March was not a good time as a air pipe had sprung a leak and with the expertise of Robert Stincombe it was repaired in a short space of time. My thanks to this man as D5401 wouldn't of been operational at all without his help

While D5401 is in service at the GCR minor restoration work continues. I have replaced both Main Res/supply gauges with two well cleaned and calibrated ones. Once the April diesel gala is over I intend to start the cab repair/repaint

10th April at Quorn top yard. D5401 was used for some minor shunting

Later the same day one of D5401 booked passenger turns, standing at Loughborough waiting the "right of way"
